Alamo Heights Athletic Training: Vision, Mission and Purpose

Vision Statement

The Alamo Heights Athletic Training Department is committed to applying evidence-based practices, embracing innovative approaches, and offering student-athletes top-quality medical resources for injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management. We also prioritize education for athletes, parents, and coaches. Our goal is to ensure a positive and healthy recovery process, as well as a safe return to athletic participation. We aim to be a leader in the field of athletic training at the local, state, and national levels.

 

Mission Statement

The Alamo Heights Athletic Training Program provides both traditional and contemporary Athletic Training and Sports Medicine services to the student-athletes of AHISD. These services can be categorized into five key areas:

  1. Injury Prevention

  2. Recognition, Evaluation, and Immediate Care of Injuries

  3. Rehabilitation and Reconditioning of Injuries

  4. Health Care Administration

  5. Professional Development and Responsibilities

We are dedicated to leveraging the latest technology in the delivery of these services. Our focus on ongoing education, clinical skill enhancement, and the use of advanced equipment ensures that our student-athletes receive the highest standard of care available nationally.

 

Our goals are to:

  • Provide easy access to sports medicine services for all student-athletes.

  • Significantly reduce the risk of athletic injuries for those in our care.

  • Facilitate the safe and timely return of injured student-athletes to their sports.

  • Promote a sports philosophy focused on health and wellness.

The core principle of the Athletic Training program is that the well-being of the student-athlete is always the top priority for every member of the Athletic Training staff. We are committed to continuously evaluating and improving our program to ensure that our student-athletes receive the highest quality of sports medicine care.
